The Conneaut Democrat Central Committee recently met for an organizational meeting and to prepare for the November election. The meeting was well attended and the following people were elected as officers:

• Chairman George Distel
• Vice Chairman Ron Maki
• Treasurer Luanne Laakso
• Secretary Cindy Blank

The Conneaut Democrat Central Committee is made up of 16 precinct committee persons, who seek out and help local Democrats get elected to local offices. Committee members help in the election process by recruiting and assisting local people to run for local offices. They also help organize local fundraising activities such as the annual Conneaut Democrat Steak Fry, which will be held August 17th this year at Blue Belle Isle. The funds raised are used to assist our Democrat candidates purchase advertising and materials associated with their bid for office. The Committee also helps in the election process by promoting voter registration at community events such as the Fourth of July and Octoberfest celebrations, and by distributing informational literature about Democrat candidates.

Anyone interested in getting involved is encouraged to contact any of the officers. New people and ideas are always welcome. This is a grass roots organization of volunteers who help stimulate the election process.
