The Ashtabula Women Democrats announce a Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Rally featuring U. S. Congressman, Sherrod Brown. The event will take place on Monday, October 25, 2004 beginning at 5:30PM at the Democrat Party headquarters at 2215 Lake Ave in the Ashtabula Plaza.

The GOTV event will include a speech from Representative Brown and a GOTV presentation by Kerry/Edwards staff members. Persons wishing to volunteer for Election Day GOTV may sign up at the rally. Entertainment and refreshments will be provided with music by Alex Bevin.

Congressman Brown’s Ohio 13th District encompasses the cities of Akron, Elyria, and Lorain and Lorain, Summit, Cuyahoga, and Medina counties. According to the AFL-CIO web site, he has a 100% voting record in 2003. He has stood on behalf of working families, seniors and children; voting to protect citizens with legislation on retirement security, overtime pay, worker safety, labor and education, Medicare prescription drug, and privatization. Representative Brown will speak to these and other issues as they relate to the November 2^nd election and the voters of Ashtabula County.

The public is invited to attend the rally, which is expected to conclude at 7:30PM. Congressman Brown will be available for interviews both before and after the event.
